World Habitat Day 2026

Join Tahlequah Area Habitat for Humanity as we celebrate World Habitat Day by bringing our community together for a day of service, teamwork, and impact on October 10, 2026.

World Habitat Day is an international observance established by the United Nations to recognize the importance of safe, adequate housing for all. Each year, Habitat organizations around the world use this day to raise awareness of the need for affordable housing and inspire communities to take action. At Tahlequah Area Habitat for Humanity, we're proud to celebrate by giving our community an opportunity to make a tangible difference through our Community Build Day.

Participants ages 16 and older are invited to help build handcrafted picnic tables while supporting Habitat's mission of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership for families in Cherokee County.

Whether you're an experienced builder or picking up a drill for the first time, you're welcome to join us! No construction experience is required—our staff and volunteers will provide all the tools, instruction, and guidance you need. Registration is $10 per person, and participants may volunteer for one shift or the entire day. A complimentary lunch will be provided at 12:00 p.m. for all volunteers.

The completed picnic tables will be available for purchase, with proceeds directly supporting Tahlequah Area Habitat for Humanity's affordable housing programs in Cherokee County.

This World Habitat Day, come build more than picnic tables—build hope, strengthen our community, and help create brighter futures for local families.

$500 Table Sponsor- Business logo on event signage, recognition on social media, logo on Website and ReStore billboard for 30 days, and first opportunity to purchase a completed bench.
Lunch Sponsor- Business logo on event signage, recognition on social media, and third opportunity to purchase a completed bench.

We will mail a check or money order for the sponsorship amount to TAHFH, P.O. Box 1876, Tahlequah, OK 74465.
We will bring our sponsorship donation to the TAHFH office at 816 South College Avenue, Tahlequah, between 9-4, Monday-Thursday, or by appointment by calling 918.453.1332..
We will submit our sponsorship donation via PayPal (the PayPal link will be in the email sent to you after submitting this form).
